The Benores in DC!

It is official. We are moving from our spacious two-story house, to a wonderful apartment on the Trinity River (550 mile long river that flows entirely within the state of Texas). The apartment complex is a four story building built around a four story parking garage. You get a particular unit through an interior hallway (and elevators). It reminds me of a hotel type layout.

We are about 5 blocks from the historic court house, on the northern most part of downtown (northeast), but everything is soooo close.

And why are we moving? It is an opportunity to become a CARES team for Apartment Life. CARES is a resident retention program that assists management in building community and serves residents.

It is easy to let some things fade from our memory. This should never be one of those things. 6 years and we still have battles to fight. But we should never, ever forget.

There was a fire at work today. I was home sick, so I don't know much – but here is a news article about it.

Nifty huh? This is my first non-American car, but the appeal of higher fuel standards lessens our dependence on foreign oil. So, I have no problem buying Japanese to lessen our tie to the Middle East/Venezuela. For more info on this car click here.

This is a short post to wish everyone a happy new year. 2006 was great, but 2007 should be awesome!

Last night Shantell and I saw the movie World Trade Center. It has to be one of the best movies of the year. An incredible story of two Port Authority Police Officers who were trapped in Tower One of the WTC. The movie stirred within me every emotion I ever felt on September 11th. Fear, rage, and hope. If you have an opportunity to see this movie – it is a must see. Oliver Stone simply directed a masterpiece. Certain to get some golden statues at the Academy Awards.

Well it seems that my email service is currently down. The hosting provider upgraded their mail server last week and that somehow effected my mail this week. They should have it restore lately, but who knows. Sometimes I wish I had my own servers, but who wants to pay for that?

Well the semester is coming to an end. All my projects and papers are complete. Everything seems to be on track for good grades. It has been a challenging semester academically. I have had lots of reading and writing to do but it has been a great experience. My classes this semester are Philosophy & History of Christian Education, Teaching & Administration in the Church, and Curriculum Design for Christianity Ministry. The Philosophy and Curriculum design classes were among my favorite classes. Now I wait to see what my grades are.

Today we received some sad news. We have lost the baby. Although we are a bit discouraged, we will push through and try for another one soon. Continue to pray for us during this period in our lives.
