The Benores in DC!

Well this week, Shantell and I decided it was time for a new truck. Her plastic Saturn was giving her problems and I have been wanting a truck or SUV for some time. So we went to Hillard Ford and bought a 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat. More information to come!

Well as the Hurricane is beginning to ravage our home state, not to mention our families' homes, we are spending the weekend in beautiful San Antonio. You know, “Remember the Alamo!” We decided to get out of Dodge for the extended weekend, not to mention both Shantell and I needed a mental break. With me working and going to school both full-time and Shantell in a new job … San Antonio brings us much needed rest and relaxation.

Today, we spent part of our day at Natural Bridge Caverns and Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. The ranch had as its main attraction is a drive-thru safari in which you are able to feed various animals from the comfort of your car. I was a bit timid at first, but the animals behaved themselves for the most part. Although one of the zebras did bite Shantell on the finger! And yes, she said it hurt. But she ended up being fine and getting a zebra colored band aid from first aid.

We then ate dinner at a great authentic Mexican resturant called Mi Tierra Resturant and Bakery. Even had a mariachi band sing at our table!
